Dispute Policy
At RaceTeams.com, our mission is to support a safe, honest, and transparent environment for buyers and sellers in the motorsports community. While we are not a party to any transaction, we recognize that disagreements may arise. This policy explains how disputes may be addressed through our platform.
1. What Qualifies as a Dispute?
A dispute occurs when a buyer and seller are unable to resolve an issue related to a completed transaction. Common reasons include:
- The buyer did not receive the purchased item or service
- The item received differs significantly from the listing description
- A booked service was not delivered as agreed
- A refund or payment is in question due to failed fulfillment
2. Responsibilities of Buyers and Sellers
Buyers must:
- Carefully review listings, pricing, and seller policies before purchasing
- Contact the seller directly via RaceTeams.com messaging to address concerns
- Provide relevant evidence (e.g., communication logs, photos, receipts) if submitting a dispute
Sellers must:
- Accurately describe all goods and services
- Fulfill orders and services in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain communication with buyers and work toward reasonable resolutions
3. Dispute Resolution Steps
Step 1: Attempt Direct Resolution
Buyers and sellers are expected to communicate in good faith to resolve issues privately. Most disputes can be settled with clarity and mutual respect.
Step 2: Submit a Dispute to RaceTeams.com If no agreement is reached, the buyer may submit a dispute by emailing Support@RaceTeams.com within 14 days of the transaction. The buyer should include:
- Order details and transaction ID
- Summary of the issue and attempted resolution
- Screenshots or documentation (e.g., messages, tracking numbers, product images)
Step 3: Marketplace Review & Mediation (Non-Binding)
RaceTeams.com will review the submission as a neutral platform and may request input from the seller. Our review is non-binding and does not create a guarantee of outcome.
We may suggest one of the following:
- A partial or full refund (processed via Stripe)
- A replacement or alternative resolution (if offered by the seller)
- Denial of the dispute if evidence is insufficient
Please allow up to 15 business days for a complete review. Sellers will have 7 days to respond.
Step 4: Final Platform Position
If RaceTeams.com determines a course of action, both parties will be notified. While we may facilitate communication and offer guidance, we do not enforce outcomes or assume responsibility for buyer or seller obligations.
4. Important Limitations
RaceTeams.com does not mediate disputes under the following conditions:
- The transaction occurred outside of the platform
- The buyer did not attempt direct contact with the seller first
- The buyer simply changed their mind post-purchase
- The dispute is reported more than 14 days after the transaction
- Delays caused by third-party shipping services or force majeure
5. Shipping and Additional Costs
- Shipping Costs are the buyer’s responsibility and applied at checkout unless "pickup only" is clearly stated by the seller.
- Buyers are encouraged to inquire in advance about any potential additional fees associated with sponsorships, bookings, services, or product customizations (e.g., material costs, travel charges, or activation fees).
RaceTeams.com is not responsible for costs outside of the transaction total shown at checkout.
6. Fraud Prevention & Policy Violations
We actively monitor for fraudulent activity. This includes but is not limited to:
- False or abusive dispute claims
- Repeated failure to deliver by a seller
- Attempts to transact off-platform to avoid fees
Accounts involved in fraudulent activity may be suspended or permanently banned.
7. Our Role as a Platform
RaceTeams.com is a neutral technology platform and is not a broker, agent, or guarantor. We do not verify every transaction, nor do we guarantee any outcome between users. Use of this dispute policy does not imply RaceTeams.com will enforce or arbitrate any transaction.
