CookieNotice

Learn how RaceTeams.com and its service providers use essential cookies, payment cookies, analytics, referral technologies, and privacy controls.

How RaceTeams uses cookies and similar technologies

This Cookie Notice explains how RaceTeams, LLC ("RaceTeams," "we," "us," or "our") and service providers supporting RaceTeams.com may use cookies, local storage, pixels, tags, and similar technologies when you use the RaceTeams website and marketplace (the "Service").

This Notice should be read with the RaceTeams Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how RaceTeams collects, uses, discloses, retains, and otherwise processes Personal Information.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files placed on or associated with a browser or device. They can support functions such as maintaining a session, remembering preferences, processing payments, protecting accounts, measuring use, attributing referrals, or supporting other website features.

Similar technologies may include browser local storage, pixels, tags, software development tools, or identifiers used for comparable purposes.

2. Cookies used for essential marketplace functions

RaceTeams uses Sharetribe as its marketplace infrastructure. Sharetribe uses an essential marketplace cookie named st-hosted-token to maintain session information. Sharetribe currently describes this cookie as lasting approximately one month and states that it is not presently used to store Personal Information.

When RaceTeams uses Stripe for online payment processing, Stripe may set its own cookies when Stripe payment components load. Those cookies support payment, security, fraud-prevention, and related Stripe functions and are governed in part by Stripe's own notices and practices.

Essential cookies and similar technologies may be necessary for features such as:

  • Account sessions and authentication
  • Security and fraud prevention
  • Marketplace navigation and transaction state
  • Payment processing
  • Remembering settings needed to provide a requested feature
  • Maintaining the stability and integrity of the Service

Blocking essential technologies may cause parts of RaceTeams.com to stop working correctly.

3. Non-essential technologies

Depending on the production features enabled, RaceTeams may use non-essential technologies for purposes such as:

  • Analytics and performance measurement
  • Referral attribution and reward administration
  • Remembering optional preferences
  • Measuring marketing communications
  • Embedded media or third-party content
  • Social login or similar optional integrations

RaceTeams intends to minimize non-essential cookies at launch. Where non-essential technologies require consent or another privacy control under applicable law, RaceTeams will provide the required notice and control before or when those technologies are used.

4. Analytics

RaceTeams may use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the Service, identify errors, measure feature performance, and improve marketplace design.

Some analytics services use cookies, while others can operate without cookies. The specific technology used may change as RaceTeams' production configuration evolves.

RaceTeams does not currently use Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising or customer-list matching and does not currently sell or share Personal Information for targeted advertising.

5. Referral technologies

RaceTeams uses Tapfiliate or may use a successor referral provider to administer Promoter Program and referral attribution. When a visitor follows an eligible referral link, Tapfiliate may use a first-party cookie, currently identified by Tapfiliate as tap_vid, or a similar identifier to associate the visit with the referring partner and program.

RaceTeams currently intends to use an initial referral-attribution window of approximately 90 days. Where RaceTeams associates a referred customer with a Promoter Program participant for ongoing customer attribution under the applicable program terms, additional account or customer identifiers may be maintained separately from the browser cookie. Ongoing customer attribution may continue beyond the browser-cookie period while the applicable program remains in effect and the participant remains eligible under its terms.

Referral information may include a referral code or link, referring party, landing page, date and time, device or cookie identifier, customer or account identifier, and qualifying marketplace activity. Tapfiliate may also receive conversion and commission information submitted by RaceTeams, including a transaction identifier, RaceTeams' commissionable service-fee amount, gross marketplace value or other transaction metadata, and the applicable commission category.

Referral cookies and similar technologies are not required for basic browsing. Where applicable law requires consent or another privacy control for referral attribution, RaceTeams will provide the required notice and choice. Blocking or deleting referral technologies may prevent RaceTeams from attributing a referral or providing a referral reward.

Referral tracking does not authorize a Promoter Program participant or referral partner to receive your password, full payment-card number, bank-account credentials, tax forms, government identification, or other information not reasonably necessary to administer the referral program.

6. Maps, video, social login, and embedded services

Third-party features can create additional privacy or cookie considerations.

For example, Sharetribe currently notes that:

  • Google Maps may set non-essential cookies.
  • Google Analytics uses cookies.
  • Facebook or Google social login can set cookies and connect third-party accounts.
  • Embedded YouTube video may use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, but additional tracking can occur after a visitor plays a video.

RaceTeams may choose cookie-minimizing providers or configurations when practical. If RaceTeams enables a third-party feature that materially changes its cookie practices, RaceTeams will update this Notice and provide any required controls.

7. Your choices

Browser controls

Most browsers let you block, restrict, or delete cookies. The exact controls depend on your browser and device.

Blocking essential cookies may interfere with account access, checkout, payments, security, preferences, or other marketplace functions.

RaceTeams cookie controls

Where RaceTeams provides a cookie-preference tool, use that tool to manage non-essential technologies available through the Service.

Marketing email choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link provided in the message or by contacting RaceTeams. RaceTeams may still send account, transaction, security, policy, or other non-marketing communications.

Global Privacy Control and other opt-out signals

Where legally required, RaceTeams will treat a recognized browser-based opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising for the browser or device sending the signal.

Because RaceTeams does not currently engage in those practices, such a signal may not change the Service at launch.

Do Not Track

There is no uniform industry standard for legacy browser "Do Not Track" signals. RaceTeams does not currently respond to those legacy signals. This does not limit RaceTeams' obligation to honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals where applicable.

Some cookies are session cookies and expire when a browser session ends. Others remain for a defined period or until deleted.

Duration depends on the technology, provider, browser settings, and feature involved. Third-party providers may set and update their own retention periods under their privacy and cookie notices.

9. Third-party services

RaceTeams does not control every cookie or similar technology placed by an independent third party. Sharetribe, Stripe, Tapfiliate, analytics providers, embedded-content providers, social networks, referral providers, and other third parties may process information under their own privacy notices when acting independently. If a Promoter Program participant or referral recipient enters a Trolley-hosted or embedded payout-onboarding experience, Trolley may use cookies or similar technologies under its own privacy and cookie notices. Trolley is not intended to operate as the general sitewide referral-tracking cookie on RaceTeams.com.

Review the applicable third-party notice for additional information about its technologies and choices.

RaceTeams may update this Notice as marketplace features, providers, technologies, and legal requirements change. RaceTeams will revise the "Last Updated" date and provide additional notice or consent where required by applicable law.
